Harris Digital Learning offers Weekly Student Progress Reports, which can be automatically emailed to students, parents or guardians, and institution administrators. These reports provide a snapshot of each student's current academic progress and performance across their active course enrollments.
Each report summarizes the student's active courses along with key progress and performance indicators, making it easy to monitor engagement, pacing, and academic standing throughout the week.
Who Receives the Weekly Student Progress Report?
Weekly Student Progress Reports are an optional service that customers may elect through their annual customer agreement. When enabled, reports are automatically distributed by email on the organization's selected day of the week (for example, every Friday).
Two versions of the report are generated:
- Students/Parents - An individualized report for a single student (pictured above)
- Institution Admin - A consolidated report containing progress information for all applicable students
Note: Recipients must have a valid email address associated with their eSchoolware account in order to receive these reports.
What Academic Data is Shared?
The report includes all active course enrollments for the student. This also includes courses that the student has completed but that have not yet been finalized by the student's Advisor or school district.
The report contains the following information for each course:
- Course Name - The name of the enrolled eCourse as it appears in eSchoolware. This typically includes the course title, course part (such as Quarter 1), and course type.
- Teacher - The teacher(s) responsible for instructing the course.
- Assignments Completed in the Past 7 Days - The number of assessments the student completed during the previous seven days for that course. Most eCourses contain approximately 38–52 assessments per quarter, so students following a traditional nine-week schedule typically complete 4–6 assessments per week. (Note: Actual pacing expectations may vary by district. If you have questions about your school's expectations, contact the student's Advisor or Institution Administrator.)
- Overall Progress - The percentage of the course that has been completed. This value is calculated by dividing the number of completed assessments by the total number of assessments in the course.
- Pacing Indicator - The pacing indicator compares the student's current progress to the expected pace based on the course's assigned start date and end date. When a course enrollment includes start and end dates, eSchoolware automatically generates a Study Planner that recommends completion dates for each assessment. The pacing indicator reflects how closely the student's progress aligns with that schedule.
- Grade-to-Date - Also referred to as the Running Total, the Grade-to-Date represents the student's current grade based only on assessments that have been completed and scored. Incomplete, missing, or ungraded assessments are not included in this calculation.
- Total Minutes in Course - The total amount of time the student has spent actively working within the course, based on recorded course activity.
What Do Administrators See?
As an administrator receiving reports, you will see both the individualized reports per student as well as a consolidated view. An example of the consolidated report is included below:
This includes the student name, the total number of active courses enrolled, the average grade between all course enrollments, the number of courses which have a behind or extremely behind pacing indicator, and the number of completed courses.
