Many eCourses include optional assessments that can be assigned to students at the time of enrollment:
Diagnostic Assessments – A pretest built from course and lesson objectives. Students who demonstrate mastery of specific lesson objectives can test out of those lessons, allowing them to create a customized course focused on the remaining concepts. These assessments are often used for Credit Recovery or for students on an accelerated learning path.
Progress Tests – A set of pretest and post-test assessments that serve as benchmarks to measure learning gains throughout the course. Results do not affect course design or student grades.
End-of-Course (EOC) Tests – In some courses, a post-test can be assigned at enrollment to evaluate overall learning outcomes. Like progress tests, results do not impact the course design or student grades.
